I just realized that like most people, I live slaving for money. Day in, day out, I worry about how to get food on the table. Anxiety comes as I look at that cash register every time the barcode scanner goes through my groceries. Is this life? Is this the abundant life promised in John 10:10. Do we really believe that God provides for all our needs and that His children will not go begging for bread? What difference do we have from the ancient Israelites who cut themselves up to get the favor of the fertility god Baal? God is our provider and our budgets should be based on what he wants for us rather than what we get from the world.
