During the wake of my friends mom, I came across acquaintances and friends I have not seen for a while. They complemented me for losing weight and asked me how I did so. They asked about my diet. Some maybe seeking for the best weight loss supplement available. Truth is, while diet may have played a little part in it, its really the change in my activities. I have been teaching ballet for a year now and have gone back to taking classes to enhance my job. I now take about 6 hours of ballet classes a week, on top of 4 hours of classes I teach. While this is not a professional danseur's regimen, it is good enough to keep me in the teaching game. The added benefit is the fitness I get. It is really about doing a physical activity you love rather than getting fit for fitness sake alone.

Swimsuit ready
Posted on 1:10 AM by Tes Tirol
Speaking of swimming, I was quite happy because I finally fit into my swimwear minus a few bulges here and there. woohooo No, I didn't buy weight loss pills. I think it was a combination of choosing the food I ate and with a lot of help from fasting. Ü I prefer to eat fruits whenever I have the chance to plus I have a lot of prayer concerns so the fasting took care of my unwanted lbs. as well. hahaha I still want to lose a few more... maybe 5 to 7 lbs. more so I'm striking while the iron is still hot. yeah!

I got noticed!
Posted on 11:23 AM by Tes Tirol
... in a nice way, anyway. I brought the kids to Kumon last Monday and got to meet one of the moms I haven't seen in a long while. Last time she saw me I was probably 10 pounds or so heavier. She told me I had lost weight and that my face had stretched up a bit. (Boy, did that make my day hahaha!) She asked how I did it and if I had gone on a diet. I told I don't take sodas or soft drinks as much as possible. I also told her it was probably because of ballet. I sometimes teach as a substitute for dh when he can't make it to to his class. No diet pills here. Just a simple equation. More movement=more calories burned. Plus, my flabby arms are definitely smaller than before. (I posted about this a few posts back)
My goal is to go back to my dancing weight, which is like reaching for the moon. My next target area is my tummy. If you've ever been pregnant then this is a definite struggle area. I'll keep you posted if I become successful. :)

Idol News-Mandisa Transformation
Posted on 1:32 AM by Tes Tirol
I listen to internet radio via iTunes when I do my computer stuff. Most of the time I listen to The Healing Streams but the other day I tried to switch stations just to break the monotony. So I tried K-love and at that time they had Mandisa on, an American Idol contestant in one of the previous seasons of AI. She was sharing her experiences about her struggle with weight loss and how she started overcoming it. If I remember correctly, she said she had lost around 80 lbs. already. That's a lot! It takes a whole lot more than the best weight loss pills to keep that off and it's inspiring how she continues to overcome her weight challenge. I probably should read more about her story to find out how she did it.

Beauty or Health
Posted on 1:24 AM by Tes Tirol
On TV, magazines, and the internet you see the ideal lady having a slender whistle bait figure . This drives hordes of young ladies looking for Anoretix or some other lose- weight- quick drug. Is beauty intrinsically associated with a slender body ? Or is this a projection of Hollywood's worldview? Why should we try to lose weight? The primary reason should be to keep our bodies functioning right. Our bodies weren't designed to be weigh 300lbs. No wonder we have back and leg problems! No wonder we have high blood pressure! Its all about proper stewardship of our bodies and turning away from a lifestyle of greed and gluttony.
