Choosing a career

Today, I spent some time talking with our advanced students in Ballet. I asked them, "Ano ang gusto mong maging paglaki mo?" (viz. What do you want to be when you grow up?) Like most teenagers, they were not yet sure. One of them said she was praying but still hasn't gotten the answer. I told her that a lot of times the answer is already staring at you in the face. It may be a desire in your heart or a dominant gift that you ought to develop. The Bible says that we should delight ourselves in the Lord and He will give us the desire of our hearts. Does it mean that if we do what He wants, He will do what He wants? Or perhaps He changes us so that we will desire what He desires. Whatever it is, we have to have a clear understanding of what God desires for us to do. When employment screening time comes, our confidence and faith in God's plan for us will make us stand out. It is our faith and joy in Christ, that will make us excel in whatever career path we take.
