Social Responsibility

It is a sad thing when corporations or government agencies and/or contractors set aside safety and public welfare for the sake of profit. This is common knowledge and it exists in our society today. Substandard materials and industrial products that do not pass quality standards are not uncommon. I remember a friend telling us of her household nightmares in her supposedly high-end home. The construction and the materials used were not up to par to how it is marketed to the consumer. Mind you, this particular house is located in a subdivision owned by one of our more prominent government officials. It makes me wonder the sincerity of all the promises these officials make and how committed they are to their social responsibility. Election season will soon be upon us and we shall see how it translates into actual support for them... soon enough.
