Party Invitations

We were invited to a children's birthday party a couple of weeks ago. We didn't get an actual invitation but we just received a text message from this friend inviting us to his daughter's birthday party. Of course we don't mind because this family was close to us and besides it's more eco-friendly isn't it?In this day and age of text messages and emails, are party invitations really becoming extinct? I've been asked to do a wedding invitation layout and I've been doing a lot of googling on the net and I must say I have seen some that I really really like. I have a few of them featured on my other blog if you'd like to take a peek. I guess it all boils down to how well you know your guests and what to your mind is acceptable to them. Some won't be offended with a simple text message and some might prefer the more formal and traditional way of being invited. Either way, it's their presence in your event that matters most, right?
