Sleepless Night

Yesterday was a sleepless night for Tes and I. The valve of our faucet inlet broke, spewing a high pressure jet of water in our bathroom. This would have been devastating for area rugs of any sort. Good thing we only had a small mat at the bathroom door. We tried making a plaster of paris plug to keep the water in but somehow the pressure would break the barrier. We ended up closing the water main and waiting for the morning to purchase a new valve. My discovery was that the contractors used a cheap, partially plastic valve instead of a typical brass one. One more lesson learned to be applied in the construction of our own home!
