My favorite aisle in the supermarket

Did you know that my favorite aisle in the supermarket is the toiletries section where all the shampoos, soaps and skin care products are. I remember when we were in the US and I was still pregnant with my first child, I would take my sweet time browsing through the all the products and reading all the claims on the labels. 

One of the baby products that I really wished for my soon to arrive baby back then was the Aveeno baby care line.  It's definitely one of those products you need to have on your baby shower wishlist aside from all those other cutesy baby stuff. My kids are no longer little babies (just bigger babies to me) but I love the Aveeno line and if you are expecting a little bundle of joy I know your baby will love it too.

Are you a Coupon Queen?

Yup, I was a coupon clipping queen when we lived in the US some time ago. I remember those days when I would ask hubby to always buy the weekend newspapers because there was always a good deal to find in those inserts that you don't get on a regular newspaper day. I would clip out all sorts of manufacturer coupons for our local grocery store (Fry's), my favorite craft stores weekly deals and even tech stuff like Circuit City coupons for those national holiday sales. I mean 40% even up to 60-75% off is a steal with these coupons! I sure miss those coupon clipping days. (sigh)...

Still Blinging It

Speaking of jewelry, one thing both my mom and my MIL  have in common is the love of designer jewelry. They both always have the perfect set to match whatever outfit they put on. It's just their thing. I'm not really the fashionista type coz I get by on jeans and shirts but I don't complain whenever a little bling rains down on my head. lol I do know that I see signs of this in my little girl. Would you believe she wears those plastic toy rings and necklaces to sleep? Oh no! so I tell hubby that we better work hard and save up for her. Better yet, I'll just save up all those sparkly baubles my fashionista mom & MIL gift me with. Right?

Diamonds or Pearls? Which one are you?

They say that diamonds are a girl's best friend and who wouldn't want that. I certainly would but I am more inclined to choose a freshwater pearl accent to complete my outfit over those sparkly blingies. A classic pearl necklace and the classic little black dress with an Audrey Hepburn-like appeal is more my style. Just take any smart casual outfit and throw on a classic pearl set and your ready to shake hands with the President. Just a bit of trivia too, my MIL told me that even the Princess of Brunei would compliment her on her pearl jewelry. So next time you need to bling it on, reach out for those pearls, you know that you are in good company.

Sick and tired

... really. The weather has been crazy lately, it's the rainiest summer as far as I can remember. I've had a bad case of the cough because of it and it's making me feel tired and sleepy most of the time. It's been better today though as I felt well enough to go do some grocery with hubby and the kiddies. Quite therapeutic actually, shopping that is. lol  In fact, it got some of my adrenalin going that I had a chance to blog a bit. I guess I won't be needing any  clinical laboratory service anymore. Whew! The only service that I'm wishing for is a good massage - home service. eh? :)

Spring Cleaning

I know there is no spring here where I live but our house definitely needs a spring cleaning day once in a while. I try to get rid of as much stuff as I can regularly but those of you who have kids know that purging is an ongoing thing. Aside from that, being in a tropical country, one has to deal with a lot of humidity and dust especially on the furniture. I sometimes wish I had one of those steam cleaners they show on the TV Shopping channel. Being married to a Physics major guy, I have these little tidbits of info on these products I have on my wishlist. Geeky stuff, y'know. LOL Hubby says that steam is actually hotter than boiling water and acts as a very good sanitizer for your stuff. Which gives me an idea...! Hmmmm, maybe I can elbow him to send me to a spa on Thursday and steam all my grimy dead skin cells away. lol

Achy Brakey Me

The last few days were so jampacked for me. I got to do my first photo shoot at the CCP for a ballet show and I was so thrilled. Being a ballet show, I knew that I needed to really move fast and run back and forth to get the dance shots I wanted. And so I did. The bad part is I didn't do any warm ups before the shoot and now I'm so achy all over. :( Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. LOL I wonder if these massage therapy schools teach a massage technique that I can use at home next time my muscles go achy brakey on me. hmmm...
